I want to completely remove iOffline from my computer, or I have trouble updating my iOffline installation on my Windows operating system.
If you wish to remove iOffline completely or to perform a clean re-install of iOffline, (for example if a regular reinstall produced authentication issues) please do the following: (
Note: While these instructions are specified for Windows XP, the principle is valid for all Windows operating systems.)
Step 1: To remove iOffline, open the Control Panel --> Select "Add or Remove Programs" --> Remove iOffline from the list.
Step 2: Go to My Computer --> Tools --> Folder Options --> View. Make sure the radio button “Show hidden files and folders” is selected.
Step 3: Go to C:\Documents and Settings\
\Application Data and delete the folder "ioffline.81FA133F75F33E2D63625F7A6A37BDA4DE3C1E7E.1"(
Note: If you get an error message saying the program is in use, do the following first: Ctrl-Alt-Del --> Task Manager --> Processes Tab --> Sort by Image Name. Find "ioffline.exe" in the list and click “End Process.”)
Step 4: Go to C:\Documents and Settings\
\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\ELS. Delete the folder "ioffline.81FA133F75F33E2D63625F7A6A37BDA4DE3C1E7E.1"

Step 5: Return to the site, click "Download iOffline," and follow the installation instructions.

Verify that your username is correct and attempt to sign in again. Please note that your password is case-sensitive and your Caps Lock key should be disabled when you attempt to sign in. If you are still unable to sign in, please request to have your login information e-mailed to you.

What should I do if I have forgotten my password?
Select “
Forgot Password?” in the user login box located on the left side. Type in your username or your e-mail ID and click submit. You will receive an e-mail with your password.

Where can I find all the notes and bookmarks I have created?
Select “My folder” located in the right hand corner of the header.
In the “My Activities” box, you can toggle between notes and bookmarks.

Open the book you would like to read by selecting “Read It.” Find the page where you want to add a bookmark and select the bookmark page symbol located in the header of the interface beside the page selection field.
You may also add a comment to every bookmark by typing in the blank fields. To finish, click “Save.”

How can I copy parts of a text?
Open a book by selecting “Read It.” Find the page you want to copy text from, and select the "Text Selection" symbol located next to the "Pen" symbol. Point to the first word of the selection you wish to copy and highlight the text.

How do I stop the “Text Selection” mode?
Re-select the “Text Selection” symbol located in the header.

Why am I seeing three different page numbers when I am in the book view mode?
The number in the white box shows the book page number as it appears in the book (this is also what will come up in a search result).
The numbers between the brackets respectively display the page number starting from the cover (in other words, the way in which pages are counted in a PDF), and then the total number of pages.

How do I add notes to the text?
Open a book by selecting “Read It.” Find the page where you would like to add a note and either right click your mouse or select the pen symbol in header of the interface located next to the bookmark icon. You can then move the note icon anywhere in the text. Type your note. To finish, click “Save.”

What are my access options in Thieme’s E-Book Store?
You may purchase
and download any book(s) from the Thieme e-bookstore. Pay only once per title
and own that book forever, just like when you buy a print book.

How can I search within the E-Book Store?
There are two ways in which to search within the
Thieme E-Book Store:
1) Find
the search bar located in the page header. This function is available at all
times and can be used to search throughout the entire E-Book Store. Results can
then easily be filtered by book or author. You can search using AND, OR and NOT
in the search bar.
(NOTE: Phrase match means that search terms will be case-sensitive and that
multiple search terms will be treated as having been
submitted between "quotation marks").
2) Find
the search bar located in the page viewer to search within a chosen book and
generate a result list on the left hand side of the page viewer. You can hide
or reveal your search results by clicking the small triangle toggle on the
right side of the search results.

How can I download an e-book?
Log in to your account using your username and password.
When logging in for the first time:Select "My E-Books" on the right hand side of your header. Once the E-Book Store loads, select "Download iOffline" in the "Read Offline" box located above your left navigation. Follow the instructions to install the offline content reader iOffline, which includes Adobe AIR.
Upon first logging in, please supply the Account URL of http://ebookstore.thieme.com, as well as your username and password. A window containing “My bookshelf” will then automatically open. You can then select the e-book you wish to download from the list of your licensed e-books.
Logging in after you have installed the content reader iOffline:If you have already installed the content reader iOffline, simply launch the iOffline application on the computer where it is installed.

Who can buy e-books on this e-bookstore?
The Thieme E-Book Store is for
individual, non-institutional customers only. If you would like to have access for an institution or library, you may be interested in the
Thieme E-Book Library, which is an excellent resource for students, researchers, and clinicians.

How do I download my purchased eBooks to the iPad?
- Download the Thieme Bookshelf app from App Store
- Login using the registered credentials from the 'My Account' tab [first icon of three at the bottom right corner].
- Tap on 'My Bookshelf' [third icon at the bottom right corner].
- Here, your purchased eBook(s) will be listed.
- Tap on the eBook, it will start downloading to the 'My Bookshelf'.
- After downloading, you can access eBook(s) from 'My Bookshelf'.

How do I download my purchased eBooks to an Android device?
1. Download the Thieme Bookshelf app from Google Play Store
2. Login using the registered credentials from the ' Account ' tab [from the Menu Option].
3. Tap on the 'eBooks' [Bookshelf icon as indicated in the reference image below].
4. Here, your purchased eBook(s) will be listed.
5. Tap on the eBook, it will start downloading to the 'eBooks' tab.
6. After downloading, you can access eBooks from 'eBooks' tab.

What format are the ebooks in? *IMPORTANT*
- Thieme E-Book Store eBooks are encrypted PDF/ePub files that can be accessed online through a browser on any PC/Mac.
- You can download the eBooks using the iPublishCentral Reader on to your PC/Mac.
- You can download the eBooks on to an iPad / Android using Thieme bookshelf app.
- eBooks subscribed through Thieme E-Book Store cannot be downloaded as a file onto any devices and you cannot use a third party application to read these eBooks.
- Thieme eBooks cannot be downloaded/copied on to a pen/thumb drive.
- Thieme eBooks cannot be accessed on e-Ink based readers like Kindle/Nook/Kobo/Sony eReader etc..
- eBooks subscribed through Thieme E-Book Store cannot be read on Apple iBooks or any other third party readers such as Stanza,Mobipocket Reader,Barnes and Noble eReader,The Microsoft Reader, Kindle for PC/Mac etc.

On which devices can I read the Online Books and do you have an app for Android?
You can read Thieme ebooks on an iPad or Android device by downloading the free Thieme Bookshelf app – iPad users should go to the iTunes(App store) site and Android users should go to Google Play Store to download the app.
Third party readers cannot be used to access these eBooks (ex: iBooks on iPad, Bluefire reader, Kindle Reader, Adobe Digital Editions, Aldiko on Android, etc.)
eBooks purchased from this site are not available as downloadable PDFs and are not compatible with Kindle and other third party readers and applications.

What is the iPublishCentral Reader?
The
iPublishCentral reader is a software program that, after a one time installation onto your computer, allows you to download, store, and read any book from the
Thieme E-Book Store when offline. The
iPublishCentral Reader is built on Adobe Air, which will also be installed during the initial installation process.
Once you login to the eBook site using your account you will notice a button “Download iPublishCentral Reader”
Click on the download button to go to installation page. Click on install button to set up iPublishCentral reader on your system.
Click the Login button on the upper right corner of the screen.
Select Normal User.
- Enter the URL http://ebookstore.thieme.com/ in the Site URL field.
- Use your registered log in credentials to log in to iPublishCentral Reader.
- Enter your user name in the Username field
- Enter your password in the Password field
- Click the Sign In button
- Bookshelf displays the subscribed eBooks with a Download button.
